Competitors' reflections

China Cup International Regatta attracts crews from around the world and obviously it is you, the people taking part who make the event a success.

We asked you to reflect on the 2007 event, what were the high points, the low points and what you enjoyed the most, as well as sharing your overall experiences and photographs.

Competitors have told us how much they enjoyed the China Cup:

Team Swish, Australia:

I wish to send thanks from all of the Australian China Cup 2007 team to you and the organizing committee for a magnificent regatta.  We all thoroughly enjoyed both the sailing and social aspects of the China Cup.  Having the opportunity to sail in the first China Cup was a special experience that we will long remember.  We made new friends from many countries and enjoyed sailing against many top sailors.

We could not have had such a wonderful experience without your help in obtaining use of the yacht, our hotel bookings, answering our countless questions and helping with our general arrangements.

I am sure that the China Cup in future years will become one of the best regattas in Asia if not the world.

My team and I enjoyed our experience so much that we wish to return next year for the China Cup 2008.  As you know our Australian team finished in 4th place, we thought 3rd place was possible right up to the last race but that was not to be.  We would like the opportunity to return next year for an even better result.  Please reserve a boat for our team for next year.

Thank you again for help in getting us to this wonderful event.  We look forward to seeing you next year.

Kind regards.

Steven Proud
