China Cup International Regatta is the world’s newest and most ambitious yachting festival and after 2007’s successful inaugural event, I am pleased to be able announce details of this year’s racing.
China Cup 2008 will be held on 24th to 27th October in the waters of mainland China and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and we are now inviting local and international sailors to participate.
Held in the southern mainland city of Shenzhen, bordering Hong Kong, China Cup brings together sailing, fashion, art and culture to create a spectacle that is a dramatic demonstration of modern, vibrant and dynamic China.
This year’s prizes include the “China Cup 2008” which will be awarded to the winner of the Beneteau First 40.7 class; the “Beneteau Cup” which will be awarded to the first placed Beneteau boat in the IRC division, the “Simpson Marine Prizes" will be awarded to the winner of each division (and/or any Classes in a division) of Race 1 together with other China Cup 2008 prizes awarded for boats in the first three positions in the overall series scores for each division (and/or any Classes in a division). Day prizes will be presented to the first-placed boats (only) in each division/class at the Nightly Prizegiving, with the major and overall prizes being presented at the Monday night Prizegiving.
